About Los Angeles Motorcycles

Los Angeles Motorcycles is an independent riding guide for the Southern California powersports community — riders, parents, beginners, and anyone who wants to know more about dirt bikes, ATVs, scooters, and motorcycles in the LA area.

We cover the things that matter to local riders: where to ride, what to buy, how to maintain it, and what the scene looks like on the ground. Southern California has some of the best riding in the United States — Gorman, Jawbone Canyon, Ocotillo Wells, Glamis, Pismo Beach — and one of the most active urban moto cultures anywhere in the country. This site exists to document it, answer questions about it, and help more people participate in it.

What we cover:

  • Riding Culture — The LA moto scene, Grom runs, mini moto culture, group rides, lane splitting, and what riding in Los Angeles actually looks like day to day
  • Where to Ride — OHV parks near Los Angeles, trail guides, street routes, canyon runs, and off-road destinations across Southern California
  • Bikes & Gear — Buyer guides for youth ATVs, beginner motorcycles, dirt bikes, and scooters at every budget and skill level
  • Q&A / Beginner Guides — Straight answers to the questions every new rider asks — first bikes, OHV laws, Green Sticker requirements, and how to get started
  • Parts & Maintenance — Maintenance guides and parts information for the bikes LA riders actually own and ride

Who this is for:

Parents in Los Angeles and the surrounding area who want to get their kids into off-road riding. New riders who moved to LA from cities with real public transit and discovered that a scooter or motorcycle makes more sense here than a car payment. The Bakersfield family with land who wants to know what ATV is right for a 10-year-old. The Vader owner who can’t find parts anywhere. The rider who has always wanted to make it out to Glamis but doesn’t know where to start.

Los Angeles Motorcycles is written by people who ride in Southern California and know this community from the inside.
